Assault Pod’s ally ability has two factions (Blob/Star Empire), so Ally will check both of them: Ally sees Assault Pod’s ability as Blob and Blob Fighter’s ability as Blob. I would experiment a bit and see how you like the more aggressive strategies discard is also a lot stronger in Star Realms than it is in Ascension (then again, there's very little discard in Ascension anyway) and the unite mechanics are a lot more important than you might believe at first.īoth are excellent games Ascension has been my most used app on the phone for the past ~7 years, but Star Realms has a much better interface for online games IMO. Star Realms: Frontiers is a new standalone Star Realms game with an 80-card trade deck and new scorecards thats suitable for play with up to four players. You have Assault Pod and Blob Fighter in play. If you start playing online and you're going with what you learned in Ascension (and you generally favor a slower strategy instead of bashing monsters), you'll take a lot more losses. All that matters is if you got more authority at the opponent or rather whether you have any left at the end of the game.

In Ascension, it's relatively "easy" to win with a "control deck" (where you're not necessarily going for bashing monsters, but instead you're trying to improve your deck - which would be scrapping in Star Realms - and continue to acquire more and more expensive cards as well as Constructs so you end up with a lot of honor points for your deck) whereas in Star Realms, nobody cares whether you have the "better deck". In terms of what are the biggest differences between Ascension and Star Realms specifically, I'd bring up that Star Realms is A LOT more tempo based.
